Tin Cup

Kevin Costner stars as a talented golfer with a tremendous ego and determination who attempts to make it in the U.S. Open. It's not easy to do that, however. First, he needs to overcome these incredible and unsuccessful urges to break world records, he needs to get him self unfocused on crowd-pleasing efforts (such as completing an entire round of golf with a seven iron) and, to put it mildly, to quit being such a jerk! Amidst all this, Costner is competing with his former partner for an attractive therapist, played by Rene Russo, and overcoming his debt problems. Worth a look, especially for the wonderfully suspenseful closing golf tournament.
