I honestly don't know why most critics have praised this film. It's true that "Shrek" has an interesting idea and state-of-the-art animation, but other than that, what's the big appeal? The biggest problem about this film is the lack of charm, which is what it appears to have been shooting for. Unless, of course, you find obnoxious bodily functions charming! The jokes aren't usually funny either so it is my recommendation that everybody except children (and accompanying parents) stay away from this!
