James Caan plays a popular novelist who gets into an automobile accident in the snowy wilderness and is thankfully rescued by a woman (Kathy Bates) who claims to be his number one fan. Bates nurses the man back to health while reading his latest edition to the "Misery" series, which is basically Bates' bible that she has absolutely loved and adored for years. However, when the main character dies in the novel, she goes psycho and demands that Caan resurrect it. "Misery" is a frightening film that's worth watching, especially for Bate's excellent Academy Award winning performance.
