The Mask

Jim Carrey goes cartoon! One night, a timid banker who is sick of being Mr. Nice Guy, finds a mask lying in the river. He carefully puts it on and magically turns into a green honcho with a very slick personality. An interesting twist on the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story that is a delightful family film. On the downside, the film supports no actual story, but there's some wonderfully comical material written into the script. Peter Riegert stands out as the grim police chief. Cameron Diaz's debut performance. I'd say this one's okay for most children despite the PG-13 rating which was given only because there's a lot of cartoon-like violence.
