Lost in America

Woohoo! Now if this ain't a great comedy, then I don't know what is! Albert Brooks writes, directs, and stars in this hilarious film about a bored exec and his bored wife who decide to sell everything they got, buy a Winnebago, and live the rest of their lives on the open road. Then on a pit stop in Las Vegas where they planned to get remarried when they discover that the wife (brilliantly performed by Julie Hagerty) . . . uh oh . . . is a compulsive gambler and they lose everything! If you're going to see a comedy, make it this one. The humor is intelligent enough for the most demanding of filmgoers, yet it's funny enough that I bet the Adam Sandler-addicted teenager will be laughing their socks off. Among my personal favorites.
